The L.S.D. contest was great fun requiring some distance with plenty of accuracy and a lucky bounce. Those of you that tried this remember a four foot wide "fairway", 112 yards long. Out of all the shots that were hit, 6 managed to stop in the fairway. Sheena walked off with the pot in the Women's Division rocketing one straight down the middle, some 66 yards. Actually the ball never left the fairway, and never achieved more that three feet in height. A winner nonetheless. Strangely enough, no other women kept it in play, though many hit the ball much farther, and much shorter too. |

Counting his cash is Bill, LSD champ of the Inaugural Sand Coulee Invitational. Lofting a magnificent wedge shot 108 yards that came to rest just inches inside the fairway, Bill pocketed, literally, dollars worth of winnings. Next farthest down the fairway was Denny, 107 yards long. Eric managed a third place with a shot of about 70 yards. Theresa, grinning and drinking now, nearly killed one of the neighbor's sheep with a drive of about 178 yards that was 121 yards right of the fairway. |

Lou, on the left, is one game individual. This was his first exposure to golf, and maybe his last. He entered all the competitions without fear and gave a respectable performance. Pictured here, just before his call to the LSD challenge, he looks quite thoughtful. So much so, that the person giving this picture of him the winning caption will gain "free entry" into the next Sand Coulee Invitational. Click here to send in your captions. The captions will be posted here as they come in. |

The Chip In Contest was won by David, pictured above with his Dad. David practiced this shot of about 15 yards for almost an hour!! This was entirely legal and within the posted rules of play. Since it was a rather short shot with equal odds for men or women, the entire purse went to the person who canned one. |
